Sefirat Ha’Omer - Week 6 – Middot of the week Yesod
Lavan berates Yaakov for not telling him that he was leaving. The people realize that Yaakov had been the source of blessing: of sheep, water, etc. Rachel steals her Father’s idols and places them under her seat on her camel. Lavan searches for them, but Rachel explains that "the way of women is on her" and she cannot get up. Later, Hashem punishes Rachel for causing her Father despair over the loss of his idols. Lesson is that we may not cause a parent grief, even if it is for a good reason.
Sefirot, week 6: As chesed (kindness) and gevurah (strength) lead to tiferet (harmony) so do netzach (eternity) and hod (splendor) lead to yesod (foundation). Focus on the existence of Hashem. I shall bring HaShem into my life, place Him before me always, talk to Him. A tzaddik provides the foundation of the world.
