Yaakov left Be'er Sheva and went to Haran. Yaakov left Be’er Sheva because he was running from his brother Esav. Esav was seething bc Yaakov took away his birthright.
And he arrived at the Makom (the place), and remained there all night, because the sun had set; and he took of the stones of the place, and put them beneath his head, and lay down in that place.
